11/23/2018 · Although neither would be my first choice for a rock band, the Evolve should be far better suited for using in a typical l-r pair configuration. The Bose ‘s extra wide dispersion pattern, and its inherently diffuse and non-punchy sound make it a poor choice for rock, especially when doubling up in the traditional one speaker on one side of the stage, and another one on the other side configuration.

The only other two that seem comparable are the EV Evolve 50 ( which states it’s a little louder ), and the Yorkville EMX400 ( which has a smaller sub speaker, less power and less max spl ). The Turbosound iSPIRE IP2000 is less $$ than these other two.
